Since I purchased most of my big furniture items a few weeks ago, it was finally time to focus on the more exciting part of buying a house.. decorating! I finally had the chance to bring my Pinterest board to life and take my own personal spin on it.
Since my last home update, I have purchased a kitchen table with six chairs, a bar cart, a dinnerware set, lamps for my master bedroom, emerald green pillows for my couch, a framed map dress of Paris, green and white decorative towels and other gold accents for the main floor.
Kitchen Table
Purchased online at Costco. I had a hard time finding the perfect color that matched my credenza and end tables but thought this one matched very well. I was also searching for a pedestal base table and liked the bottom of this one. I didn't want the whole table to be in white because I needed something to warm up the space in addition to the gold and green accents that I planned to buy.
Bar Cart
I was specifically looking for a gold bar cart and stalked HomeGoods and HomeSense for months trying to find one. Did you know that most bar carts are around $500.00!! I found one from Pottery Barn that I liked and thought there was no way I was going to pay that much, especially considering everything else that I had already purchased. I knew that if I was patient enough, I could find one at HomeGoods and pay half of the price. I spotted a few there before but they were either the wrong color or I didn't like the design. When I found this one, it was the only one in the store and I quickly ran to purchase it. It was only $250.00 so I ended up paying a much cheaper price compared to other places that sold them.
Dinnerware Set
This was my very first item that was purchased for my house. The day after I signed the papers, my parents and I were shopping in Bloomingdales and I ran across this dinnerware set. I always knew that the color green was going to be incorporated into my home and really liked the simplicity and classiness of the pieces. I asked my parents if I could use my Christmas money this year to purchase the set and they said yes! I think they were more shocked that I chose these over a handbag..
Lamps for Master Bedroom
Purchased at Costco. The gold accents will continue around the house!
Emerald Green Pillows for my couch
Purchased at HomeGoods. These were hard to find because I was specifically looking for emerald green. I am very particular about the feel and texture of things and really liked the elegant look that these added to the couch in addition to the soft feel of them when you are laying down.
Map Dress of Paris
This is probably one of my favorite and unique pieces that I have found for my house. I was getting lunch in Middleburg, VA and walked into one of their boutique stores and found this hanging on the wall. I immediately asked the sales associate about it and she said that it was a map of Paris that a New York designer had folded up into the shape of a dress. I thought that it was so unique and I had not seen anything like it. The kicker was that it was $1,200... My mom thought that we might be able to find something similar on Etsy and she was right! We contacted a girl that specialized in making these and she is working on making mine now! She said she had never seen or made one with the rose petals like the picture had so I am excited to see how it turns out!
Decorative Towels
Purchased at Costco.
Gold Decor for the Kitchen
Purchased at HomeGoods. I found a gold clock for the wall, a book stand, and bowls for my counter.
Wine Decanter and Whisky Glasses for Bar Cart
Purchased at HomeSense.
Casper King Mattress
Purchased from Costco.
Shout out to my parents for letting me store all of my findings in their basement.. It is so exciting to see everything start to come together!
So what's next on my list...
Green Rug
Two small chairs and a small table for the first floor
Bookshelf for the first floor
Blinds
Other gold and green decor for upstairs
I hope you enjoyed reading about some of the new things that I have purchased!
